This scope document outlines the development of an educational digital game titled Time-Traveling Maze. The game is designed for children aged 7 to 12 and aims to blend interactive entertainment with historical learning. Players navigate a series of mazes set in three distinct time periods—prehistoric, medieval, and futuristic—solving puzzles, collecting artifacts, and engaging with culturally themed environments.
The project emphasizes age-appropriate gameplay that fosters curiosity, problem-solving, and critical thinking. It incorporates original visual and audio assets, narrative storytelling, and structured level progression. The game is developed on the Scratch platform, using Agile methodology, including weekly sprints, role rotations, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Deliverables include three fully developed maze levels, complete with unique graphics, soundtracks, and interactive challenges; a cohesive storyline; functional game logic; and comprehensive QA documentation. Constraints include a five-week development window, the use of only free or royalty-free resources, and platform limitations inherent to Scratch.
This document serves to define the project’s objectives, scope, deliverables, exclusions, milestones, stakeholders, and risk management strategies, providing a clear roadmap for development and evaluation.
